"DOT PROMPT" MODE
In order to provide a modest amount of security and to avoid unintentional
utilization of the simulated dot prompt, the method for entering dot prompt
mode has been changed.
To enter dot prompt mode, follow these steps:
(1) Make certain that a file has been selected. Otherwise, choose FILE
option and pick a file.
(2) Choose the UTIL option from dLITE's Main Menu.
(3) If the prompt asking for a lead index number displays, type 9 and <PgDn>
(4) If no index is in use, then simply <PgDn> from within the UTIL submenu.
SETTING THE DOS PATH
dLITE is designed to allow it to be "popped up" from any directory on your
system. For this to work reliably, dLITE must be able to find its system
files. This is accomplished in one of several ways.
(1) Do NOTHING! This will work so long as you install dLITE in the \DLITE
directory as it was designed in the install program AND you have only
one hard disk drive on your system. \DLITE is automatically searched
each time you "pop up" the software. It obviously will not be found if
your default drive is D: and dLITE was installed on C:. You MUST use
choice (2) or (3) below if this is the case on your system.
(2) Modify the DLITE.CFG file in the \DLITE directory to specify the correct
PATH to find the dLITE software on your system.
(3) Add C:\DLITE to your DOS PATH (change C: to reflect the drive on
which the dLITE software actually was installed).
If you fail to heed the instructions above, you will know it when your system
hangs after pressing <ALT-1> to "pop-up" dLITE. Should this happen, reboot &
follow the instructions above before loading the dLITE software.
